Millions of farmers depend on selling their crops to survive. But it is a risky business – when prices drop it can spell disaster for farmers. If they earn less than it costs to run the farm, they face real hardship – struggling to buy food or keep their children in school. Ultimately they may lose their land and their livelihood. By buying Fairtrade coffee, you’re giving farmers a chance to sell their products at a stable price that covers their costs and enables them to support their families and invest in a better future.
The mission of the Rainforest Alliance is to protect ecosystems and the people and wildlife that depend on them by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behaviour. Companies, cooperatives and land owners that participate in our programs meet rigorous standards that conserve biodiversity and provide sustainable livelihoods.

At the Devon Tea Company, we are passionate about quality leaf teas. We have gone to great lengths to source high quality teas that we can supply to our customers. We are a family business that pride ourselves on the strong relationships we have with our suppliers from around the world. All the teas we source come from suppliers who are members of the Ethical Tea Partnership. The Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP) is a not for profit membership organisation that works to improve tea sustainability, the lives of tea workers, and the environment in which tea is produced. We have one of the best ranges of high grade loose leaf tea in the South West and are constantly striving to improve and grow the range of teas we currently stock.
